Dr. Eklund’s Approach to Bioidentical Hormones

The Sunday Miami Herald (6-12-11) included a special supplement focusing on women’s health. Based on an extensive interview by Elena Iglesias, the article “Doctors Try to Strike Right Hormonal Balance” was published on page 5HH. In it, Dr. Eklund talked about her relationships with menopausal patients and some of the dilemmas they face.

The Challenge of Emerging Infections in the 21st Century:
Terrain, Tolerance, and Susceptibility
This was the topic of the 18th International Symposium on Functional Medicine. Attendees came away with a heightened awareness of the extent that infections play in humankind’s maladies, from Lyme disease to (perhaps) autism.

Dr. Eklund Keynote Speaker at Red Dress Luncheon
On March 4, 2011, Dr. Eklund spoke on “Stress, Hormones and Your Heart” to a group of approximately 200 women at the annual Red Dress Luncheon in Grand Caymen. The affair was the annual fundraiser benefiting cardiovascular education. While on the island, she also was part of a 30 minute TV interview and gave a public health fair lecture entitled “The Truth about Bio-identical Hormones.”
